Day Trip The Battle of Varus
Since the nineteenth century at the latest an embittered debate has raged among experts about the exact site of the battle between the Roman general Varus and Germanic tribes. More than 500 different locations have been suggested by experts and people who consider themselves such. Meet Colonel Jürgen Conte who will be our battlefield guide for the day.
Colonel Conte will give an insight into the Roman army and the Teuronic forces. His Battle of Varus tour includes a historical introduction, a visit to the exhibition, views from the tower as well as commentary on the concept of the park.
After refreshments at the museum cafe we will retun to Cologne.
